2024 marks 30 years of the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays’ work focused on preserving, protecting, and restoring OUR Inland Bays.
The Delaware Inland Bays are a valuable resource that contribute to the economic health and wellbeing of Sussex County and the state of Delaware, supporting $4.5 billion in economic activity every year and over 35,000 jobs throughout the state. Approximately 89% of these contributions and 94% of the jobs occur within Sussex County ($4.0 billion in economic activity and 33,774 jobs), with 11% of the contributions and 6% of the jobs ($511 million in economic activity and 2,345 jobs) occurring more broadly in Delaware.
